The Capital Market Authority oversees key market participants such as member firms, mutual funds, investment banks and rating companies in the Saudi Arabian Capital Market.

The Capital Market Authority was established by the Capital Market Law on June 16, 2003. The CMA is a government organization with financial, legal and administrative independence. It reports directly to the Prime Minister.

Its primary mission is to protect investors and maintain the integrity of the securities market, including the Cairo Alessandria Stock Exchange (CASE).

A member firm of CASE must be licensed by the Capital Market Authority in order to trade on the exchange.
