Dan Tierney

Dan Tierney is a Chicago-based trader, venture capitalist and entrepreneur who co-founded GETCO with friend Stephen Schuler in 1999.[1][2][3]


Tierney, who has been described as a "cerebral economist and philosopher," started his trading career at the Chicago Board Options Exchange in 1993.[4]

When GETCO merged with Knight Capital to form KCG Holdings, Tierney and Shuler became board members in the new entity.[5]
