James F. Duffy is a retired financial services executive who is currently a consultant on capital markets regulation and corporate governance. He was previously executive vice president and general counsel of NYSE Regulation, Inc.[1]

Background

Duffy joined the New York Stock Exchange in May of 1999. He served as senior vice president and deputy general counsel until January of 2006.

Previous to joining NYSE, Duffy served as general counsel of the American Stock Exchange.

Earlier in his career, Duffy served on the legal staff of GTE Corp. He was also a corporate lawyer with Lord, Day & Lord in New York.

Education

Duffy holds a J.D. from New York University School of Law and a bachelor of arts in Anthropology from Fordham University.
