Jenny Ireland is global head of derivative operations and head of European operations at Morgan Stanley.

She joined Morgan Stanley in 1994 to manage the company’s entry into emerging markets. She held a number of roles in European Equity Operations before becoming Head of Equity Infrastructure, which combined Operations and Controllers, in 2000. She was head of Asia & European Operations from 2004-2006 and until recently combined her Head of Europe role with Global Head of Equity Business Line Services. She was appointed a managing director in 2000.

Ireland currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of LCH.Clearnet and is a member of the European Securities Services Forum (ESSF) Executive Committee.[1]


Background

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Ireland spent three years as Project Director of the City Research Project, an investigation by London Business School into the future competitiveness of the City of London. She started her career in financial journalism and has also worked as a management consultant and run her own publishing company.

Education

She has a BA from Durham University.
