Joe Mansueto is the chief executive officer of Morningstar, which he founded in 1984 as a publication meant to offer investors a faster alternative to digging through individual investment fund prospectuses. [1] He owns a 55 percent stake in the publicly traded firm.

He also owns Inc. and Fast Company magazines, and is an investor in Wrapports, which owns the Chicago Sun-Times. In 2008 he and his wife donated $25 million to the University of Chicago, which went toward the creation of a glass-domed library in their name.[2]

Mansueto was #307 in the Forbes 400 list in 2015.

Mansueto received a Bachelor of Arts/Science from the University of Chicago and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
