Juan R. Luciano
Juan R. Luciano is chairman and chief executive officer of Archer Daniels Midland, a Decatur, IL-based processor and manufacturer of animal feed, food, renewable fuels and other agricultural products. Prior to his role as CEO, he was the 12th president of the company since its founding in 1902. As president, he oversaw commercial and production activities of ADM’s corn, oilseeds and agricultural-services businesses, as well as research, project management and risk management.
He was named president in February 2014, assuming the role from company chairman and CEO Patricia Woertz, who also held the president title until handing it off to Luciano.
He assumed the role of chief executive officer when Patricia Woertz stepped down from the position on Jan. 1, 2015. He became chairman of the board in January 2016.
Luciano joined ADM in April 2011 as executive vice president and chief operating officer. Before that, he spent 25 years at Dow Chemical Company, most recently as executive vice president and president of the performance division.
Luciano earned bachelor's and master's degrees in industrial engineering from the Buenos Aires Institute of Technology.
