Lamberto Cardia [1] is the chairman of the Italian Commissione Nazionale per le Societa e la Borsa (CONSOB), a position he has held since 2003. Cardia serves as the CONSOB representative on the Committee of European Securities Regulators.


Cardia became a magistrate in 1971. He has served in a number of government roles, including, among others, head of cabinet at the Ministry of Tourism and Entertainment, chief of cabinet of the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning and Undersecretary of State to the President of the Senate. Cardia has taught State and Public Organizations Accounting as a member of the faculties of Economics & Commerce and Law at LUISS.


Cardia is a graduate of Law.

Honors and Affiliation

In 1987, Cardia received the Knight Grand Cross Order of Merit of the Italian Republic. [2] He also has served as president of the Bordoni Foundation, which conducts research in the fields of telecommunications and information technology.
