The Capital Market Authority of Egypt (CMA) is responsible for securing a transparent and credible market for investors in Egypt. As the securities market regulator, the CMA reports to the minister of investment but is completely independent from the government and receives no public funding.

The CMA has broad administrative sanction powers and enforces the capital market law.[1]
