Tony Grimes  is director general of the Central Bank & Financial Services Authority of Ireland (CBFSAI), a position he assumed in 2007. He also is a member of the CBFSAI Board.
Previously, Grimes served as assistant director general of the Central Bank and had served in a number of senior management positions in the economics, international relations, markets and payments areas. Before coming to the bank, he worked with the ESRI.
Grimes holds a first class honours degree in Commerce from UCD and a master's degree in Economics from both UCD and the London School of Economics.
